Karen Timberlake is a retired Professor of chemistry at Los Angeles Valley College, where she taught chemistry for allied health and introductory chemistry for 36 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Washington and her master’s degree in biochemistry from the University of California at Los Angeles.
Professor Timberlake has authored chemistry textbooks for 35 years. During this period, her name has become synonymous with the strategic utilization of pedagogical tools that bolster student achievement in chemistry and the application of chemistry to real-world scenarios. Over a million students have absorbed chemistry knowledge using materials such as texts, laboratory manuals, and study guides crafted by Karen Timberlake.
