About the Author
Gloria J. Galanes, presently a professor emeritus and former dean at the School of Arts and Letters, Missouri State University. Her 22-year tenure in university management has spurred her enduring intrigue in small collectives. Beyond classes on small groups, she has instructed topics such as organizational communication, leadership, communication and aging, cross-cultural communication, quantitative research methods, and practical communication research. Dr. Galanes established the Citizenship and Service Learning program at Missouri State. Her classes have scrutinized concerns like youth necessities in the community, senior citizen needs, and the viewpoints of Springfield Public Schools on behalf of numerous local organizations in Springfield. Her exploration of societal concerns has persisted through her retirement. She has co-authored two small group communication textbooks and co-edited a text on social constructivism. She obtained her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University.
Katherine L. Adams, an Emerita Professor and Communications Chair at California State University, Fresno.
