   Deborah Harley-McClaskey, Ed. D., is an Affiliate Professor within the Department of Teaching and Learning in the College of Education at East Tennessee State University. With over three decades of experience, she has guided educational departments, participated on non-profit boards, as well as managed service-learning coalitions and community leadership initiatives. Over the past 15 years, she has led, organized, and instructed the Interdisciplinary Minor in Leadership at ETSU. She integrated leadership elements into the undergraduate curriculum within the College of Education. Ms. Harley-McClaskey has been an instructor in the Human Services program and has created courses for the Tennessee Regents Degree graduate program in Strategic Leadership. Her research focuses on leadership evaluations and the establishment and effects of youth leadership programs. She offers leadership training for numerous non-profit organizations in the neighboring community. She is a leadership consultant for Pal’s Business Excellence Institute as well as the FranklinCovey Group — crafting leadership educational experiences for local, national, and international organizations, educating leadership teams as well as employee groups. She received a doctorate in educational leadership and policy analysis from ETSU and master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of South Florida.
