ISBN-13978-1483387178Dr. Joseph Wronka is a Social Work Professor at Springfield School in Springfield, MA, and serves as a Consultant to the United Nations in Geneva for the International Association of Social Work Schools (IASSW) and as a part-time advisor to the People’s Movement for Human Rights Education at the UN in New York. He is also the President of Human Rights Action International (HRAI). Dr. Wronka was honored with a Fulbright Senior Specialist award in the field of social work with expertise in social fairness and destitution, and sub specialties in civil rights, psychology, and existential-phenomenology. In 2015, he undertook Fulbright Scholar activities in Pakistan and Austria. He has held academic roles at various institutions such as West Georgia College, St. Francis College, New York University, Caldwell College, Ramapo College, Chukchi Community College, the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, Kotzebue Technical Center, College of the Holy Cross, Simmons, Boston College, and in Europe, Fachhochschule in Berne and Zurich, Switzerland; Vienna, Sankt-Poelton, and Innsbruck, Austria; and Hanover, Germany. He has also served as a Visiting Scholar at Brandeis University and a Visiting Fellow at the University of Delhi, India. His past roles include counseling at alcoholism and methadone treatment centers; clinician in community mental health institutions and private practice; director of a mental health/substance abuse facility; human rights commissioner; Vice President of the World Citizen Foundation; and board member of the Coalition for a Strong United Nations and Amherst Media, where he currently produces “Creating a Human Rights Culture”. These principles share the essence of numerous centuries of instruction in various spiritual and ethical conviction systems, which fundamentally argue that every individual, universally, should be ensured their civil rights, and live with human decency and to their capacity, free from bias. Occasionally, he describes himself as an “adventure enthusiast.” He additionally has interests in travelling, swimming laps, kayaking, fishing, biking, and playing classical music on the piano, as well as concert and ethnic pieces on the accordion.
