Author’s Background:

Cynthia Traina Donnes (B.A, M.A.) commenced her legal profession by overseeing bankruptcy cases for a statewide financial institution’s legal division. She was later appointed as a bankruptcy trustee for the Eastern District of Louisiana, becoming one of the youngest in the nation. Subsequently, she served as an Arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), dealing with securities matters. Recently certified with the Louisiana Bar Association as a Civil and Family Mediator, she currently teaches Technology in the Law and Bankruptcy Practice and Procedures at Tulane University. Additionally, she revised and delivered the Notary Public Preparation course, Legal Ethics course, and managed interns as part of the Paralegal Internship Program. Beyond classroom teaching, she presents at seminars and conferences, and provides continuing legal education as an approved sponsor sanctioned by the Louisiana Supreme Court. A graduate of the University of New Orleans, she holds a Masters in Legal Studies from American Public University, a Louisiana Notary Public commission, and both Series 7 and Series 66 licenses with FINRA.
