About the Writer
Richard Malott, PhD, BCBA-D, has been educating behavior analysis for 50 years, 3 at Denison University and now 47 at Western Michigan University, engaging with BA, MA, and PhD learners. Initially, he taught a foundational behavior-analysis course to 1000 scholars per term, who generated 1000 lever-pressing rats annually. Presently, his scholars only train 230 rats yearly, but they also manage 130 self-regulation projects and deliver 13,500 hours of intervention to autistic children each year.
Malott’s published research comprises fundamental experimental work on reinforcement schedules and stimulus control, along with application-focused studies on educational instruction, organizational behavior management, self-regulation, and autism.
