Writer Overview

John R. Boatright occupies the Raymond C. Baumhart, S.J., Professorship of Corporate Ethics in the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago. He has functioned as the Executive Director of the Society for Business Ethics and has formerly presided over the Society. The Society honored him in 2012 for a “Lifetime of Distinguished Service to the Field of Business Ethics.” He is the originator of the works Principles and the Behavior of Business as well as Ethics in Finance, and has supervised the book Finance Ethics: Crucial Aspects in Theory and Practice.He was granted his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Chicago.

 

Jeffery D. Smith holds the Boeing Frank Shrontz Chair of Ethical Proficiency and is a Management Professor in the Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University, lecturing in ethics to management, accounting, and finance learners. He is presently a member of the executive committee of the Society for Business Ethics and the editorial panel of the international publication of the Society, Business Ethics Quarterly. He is the compiler of Normative Theory and Business Ethics (2008) and has been published in a selection of business and philosophy periodicals. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.
