Karen Seccombe is a faculty member in the University of Community Health at Portland State University, situated in Portland, Oregon. She obtained her B.A. in sociology from California State University, Chico, her M.S.W. in health and social welfare policy from the University of Washington, and her Ph.D. in sociology from Washington State University. Her research concentrates on poverty, welfare, healthcare access, and the impacts of social inequality on families.
