Patricia K. Ladner, post concluding a 40-year nursing career in 2005, has been fulfilling the role of Volunteer Coordinator for three Catholic churches in DeLisle, Mississippi, focusing on Katrina Recovery. Following the Katrina disaster, she has conducted numerous workshops on Infection Control and Grief Management, in addition to organizing the efforts of volunteers from various states. She previously served as a Consultant for Nursing Practice at the Louisiana State Board of Nursing and taught nursing in diploma and associate degree nursing schools before her retirement. Ms. Ladner has been honored as one of the Great 100 Nurses by the New Orleans District Nurses Association and received the 2009 Caring Woman Award from the Biloxi Regional Medical Center and Cable One. Ms. Ladner holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marillac College, St. Louis, Missouri, a Master’s in Counseling and Guidance from Troy State University, Troy, Alabama, and a Master’s in Nursing from Louisiana State University Medical Center, New Orleans, Louisiana.
