Exploring Social Justice, Criminal Justice is a stimulating analysis of the U.S. judicial system, centering on the interconnectedness of criminal justice and social justice. The book establishes a firm groundwork of fundamental philosophical and theoretical matters and proceeds to analyze the role of the law concerning social justice problems. The authors introduce and interpret the fundamental legal manuscripts of the United States, and critically scrutinize how these same records, which advocated equality for all, contribute to the continuation and enforcement of a structure of exclusion for minorities, including racial and ethnic minorities, the underprivileged, women, and the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) community.

This text, concise yet extensive, presents a meticulous evaluation of potential connections between theories of social justice and practical applications of criminal justice, shedding light on the part that the legal system has played in both hindering and aiding shifts in social dynamics. Using significant court rulings related to each marginalized group, the book illustrates the struggles of the disadvantaged and the pursuit of equal rights. It provides a valuable viewpoint and comprehension of the connections among criminal justice, social justice, and the law. Tailored for undergraduate and early graduate courses in Social Justice, Justice Studies, Critical Issues, Ethics, and American Government and Law, this text offers easily understandable material for individuals interested in critically analyzing the U.S. legal system.
