About the Author
Kenneth A. Kim, Ph.D., serves as an associate professor of finance at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. Kim is a contributor to the CFA Institute’s “body of knowledge” materials related to corporate governance practice. From 1998 to 1999, he served as a senior financial economist at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, DC, focusing on a wide array of corporate finance and governance matters, including regulations on mergers and acquisitions. His primary research interests encompass corporate finance and corporate governance. His work has been featured in financial publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, and BusinessWeek. He has been published in the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Business, the Journal of Corporate Finance, and the Journal of Banking and Finance, among other leading journals. Recently, he co-authored a review paper on international corporate governance for the journal Corporate Governance: An International Review. Kim is also a co-author of Infectious Greed and the textbook, Global Corporate Finance.
John R. Nofsinger, Ph.D., currently holds the position of associate professor of finance at Washington State University and is the author of Investment Madness, The Psychology of Investing, Investment Blunders, and a co-author of Infectious Greed. Widely recognized as a global authority on investor psychology and behavioral finance, he is frequently cited in financial media such as The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, BusinessWeek, SmartMoney, Bloomberg, and CNBC, as well as other outlets ranging from the Washington Post to Wired.com. Nofsinger has published over 20 articles in prominent academic and professional journals. His research has garnered awards at the Financial Management Association, Chicago Quantitative Alliance, and PACAP conferences. He has conducted advanced research for private enterprises, the New York Stock Exchange, and the CFA Institute. Derek J. Mohr, J.D., presently serves as a visiting assistant professor of finance at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, where he contributed to the development of the MBA course on ethics and corporate governance. Prior to his tenure at SUNY Buffalo, he spent six years as a corporate attorney advising clients on business formation, acquisitions and divestitures, as well as matters related to securities and tax.
