Regarding the Writer
Gregory L. Weiss obtained his Ph.D. from Purdue University and currently holds the title of Professor Emeritus of Sociology at Roanoke College. Throughout his tenure, he has been a distinguished educator (receiving numerous college, statewide, regional (SSS), and national (ASA’s Section on Teaching and Learning) accolades), a committed researcher and author (writer of Grass Roots Medicine and co-writer of Experiencing Social Research and the ASA publication on Creating an Effective Sociology Assessment Program in addition to numerous scholarly articles), and actively involved in the community across various health and animal welfare organizations.
Lynne E. Lonnquist also earned her Ph.D. from Purdue University. She has instructed at various institutions, including Mary Baldwin College (where she also held the position of Professor of Sociology and Director of the Adult Degree Program) and Roanoke College. Recently, she has served as a mental health educator and therapist, as well as the Director of the Center for Growth and Well Being in Roanoke, Virginia. She has been engaged in a multitude of local, state, regional, and national sociological and mental health groups.
