Dr. Julia Burdge completed most of her undergraduate studies at Iowa State University, finalizing her bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in inorganic chemistry at the University of South Florida in Tampa. She attained her Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the University of Idaho. Her Master’s and doctoral research focused on crafting chemotherapeutic analogs of cisplatin and developing tools and methodologies for detecting ultra-trace levels of atmospheric sulfur compounds. Throughout the past two decades, she has conducted introductory and advanced courses across all sectors of the undergraduate chemistry curriculum, as well as interdisciplinary courses. She designed and delivered a novel introductory chemistry course for future science educators and pioneered and served as a guide in a prospective faculty development program for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. She is currently associated with the University of Idaho.
