Number Systems: A Path into Strict Arithmetic focuses on introducing quantity techniques to an undergraduate viewers in a approach that highlights the significance of strictness, and with an emphasis on providing thorough yet accessible explanations of theorems and their demonstrations. The book consistently aims to build upon students’ natural understanding of how numbers and arithmetic operate, and to guide them towards integrating this intuitive comprehension into a more organized framework of understanding.
The writer’s incentive for composing this book is the insufficiency of in-depth explanations required for first-year students in most previous comprehensive texts on the subject. Conversely, the ones that do provide sound explanations tend to concentrate broadly on Foundations or Analysis, and offer incomplete coverage of Number Systems.
