He secured his JD at the Cleveland-Marshall School of Law, the law school of Cleveland State University. Sukys is a member of the Ohio Bar, the National Business Education Association (NBEA), the Community College Humanities Association (CCHA), the Christian Legal Society, the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA), and the Chautauqua Literary and Scientific Circle (CLSC).
