Nathan Hartman operates as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Graphics at Purdue University whereby he currently presents undergraduate courses on 3D modeling, graphics standards, and product information management. He has also delivered graduate courses covering advanced computer graphics technology subjects, research methodologies, and evaluation. Nathan joins as Co-Director of the Purdue University Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Center of Excellence within the Center for Advanced Manufacturing located in Purdue’s Discovery Park. His research fields involve the utilization of constraint-based CAD tools within the product lifecycle, the formulation of strategic information in leveraging 3D computer graphics tools, 3D data interoperability and exchange, and the application of virtual reality in PLM environments. Professor Hartman holds a Bachelor of Science in Technical Graphics and a Master of Science in Technology from Purdue University, along with a Doctor of Education in Technology Education from North Carolina State University.

Gary Bertoline serves as the Associate Vice President for Visualization Computing. He previously occupied the position of Department Head and Professor in the Department of Computer Graphics Technology. He is the co-creator of the Virtual Enterprise Center within the School of Technology, and, throughout the 6-year period he held the position of Department Head, he increased enrollment, funded projects, and contributions to the department by over 100%. Before assuming the role of department head, he taught in Computer Graphics Technology for four years. Before transitioning to the faculty at Purdue, Gary spent three years as a faculty member in the College of Engineering and Department of Engineering Graphics at The Ohio State University.

In 1996, Gary earned a Ph.D. in Ergonomics from the Dept. of Psychology, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC. His dissertation focused on Recognizing Local Metric Alterations in 3-D Computer Models. In 1987, he received an MA in Industrial Design from North Carolina State University, College of Design, Raleigh, NC. His thesis concentrated on The Establishment of Human-Computer Interface Standards for the Designer. In 1982, he attained a BA in Chemistry from Duke University, Durham, NC.
